Perpetual Time

From a Project of Unknown Duration Regarding the Perpetual Nature of Time, based on watching a larkspur flower fade since June, 1999

Like the End of the Third Year, 2004, 17” x 17"

Here, we see what we can see by watching one flower fade. We’ve been watching this one flower for twenty years and the fading flower frames questions like: what does a year look like, twenty years later? Does time get smaller with time? Is what we see today influenced by what we saw yesterday?

Double Infinity, acrylic and pencil on board, 2009
