See how Living Table has grown at Navy Pier

May 1, 2017

Living Table is our latest improvisational installation; a site for spontaneous exchange. Part-writing desks, part-paintings, part-plants: this living sculpture invites communal improvisation.

Two months ago Living Table began as a collage of ideas,  including Suffering Succulents, a Rub-and-Sniff Scent Sampler and a Sky-Viewer. Thanks to generous and hopeful gestures from Living Table visitors, a small corner in the food court of Navy Pier became a lively site for creative exchange. Individual notes and re-arrangements by passers-by have, together, become a stunning heart of the Living Table: a record of a diverse community, a picture of the way a small site is, in fact, a place of real connection, a moving portrait.
